Use These Gift Cards or Else!

In these challenging economic times, companies that we’ve long shopped at are now going belly up. And if you’ve got a gift card for any of these companies, better use the card soon or the card’ll lose its value. Same goes for if you’ve got an item you need to return or exchange – just don’t ask for store credit!

CompUSA has already gone out of business. I wonder if Toys R Us, Office Max, Staples, and Office Depot will be added to this list anytime soon. Just my own observations. Which companies do YOU think might be added to this list?

CompUSA has been bought and has been reopened in Florida.

If they file a chapter 11 the cards are still good. I believe that’s the case for Circut City and Linens N Things.

I’m terrible trying to guess what my nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives want for Christmas. I also dislike sending money even if the bills are fresh, crisp and in a nice bank envelope. But everyone likes money and Amazon sells everything, so why NOT buy anyone an Amazon Gift Certificate? You can send one for any amount by E-mail or print one at home and include it in a nice card or (my favorite), buy a Gift Card made out to the relative and send it to myself, where I can include it in a nice Holiday card. This is the perfect gift!
