I found an intermediary application called VodPod, which is a Firefox Add-on. It will post a video from anywhere to anywhere. Extremely handy, and the only way I could get a Jumpcut video to work on WP.

I just tried it — and it didn’t work. I tried it on Firefox, and got as far as the “Text before” and “Text after” portion. But pressing “Post it” didn’t do anything. Using IE, though, “Post it” did work — but neither the video nor the “Text after” were posted. See below for what the post looked like before I deleted it:

Posting a JumpCut video

In my recent post on captioning using JumpCut, I mentioned that I couldn’t embed a JumpCut video onto my blog (which was running via WordPress). A JumpCut staffer left a helpful comment — so here goes.

Please let us know if this doesn’t work for you. You can post to WordPress by selecting the ‘Post’ button under the movie, and then providing your blog endpoint and login credentials.

Also, Jumpcut is Mac friendly, but there are a few known Safari bugs. These bugs don’t exist in Firefox, Camino, or even Webkit builds.

Irony how I am a computer programmer and yet, I’m afraid to even look into editing my video clips!

I do NOT like to watch myself in video clips… I just plop it in when I’m done and go “whew, I hope people understand my message”, “I hope they don’t think I’m such a dork”, or “Please dear god, don’t laugh at me!!” ;)

I’ll get over that fear at one point and LOOK at my video clips… lol. :D
