Non-Stick Aluminum Foil
March 18, 2007
I can’t cook worth diddly-squat. I tried to warm up a frozen pizza, and nearly burned down the kitchen. My partner does all the cooking, and I do as much of the cleaning as I can in between keeping our daughters away from the kitchen. But I do try to cook once in a blue moon.
And wow, Reynolds Wrap’s Release non-stick aluminum foil is amazing. Non-stick aluminum foil — what is this world coming to? No longer is there a need to spray with Pam or some other non-stick spray — just put the non-stick foil on the cookie tray, plop some pre-prepared chicken from Safeways or Giant onto the tray, and bake away. (And hope I don’t burn down the kitchen!)
Now if I could only figure out which side is the non-stick side …

It’s the shiny side! ;)
From what I understand and have tested out myself, the shiny side cooks better and faster than the dull side. Because the dull side absorbs the heat while the shiny side reflects the heat.
So, if you accidentally wrap something with the shiny side out before you bake, remember to bake longer than what the recipe recommended and check when it smells “done”.
