Steven is right. www.ttycall.com will give you access to free relay AND tty-to-tty from any pager. It works from any Treo, any Blackberry, iPhone, any Nokia, any Motorola, or Samsung. There are many pagers that are considered "smartphones" which run on Windows CE. It also works with any of those.

sprint relay has two ways for the pager user to use their relay service.

1) add 'sprintip' as a screenname for your AOL Instant Messenger buddy list and if you have a wireless device with AIM, add 'sprintip' if you use a different screen name for your mobile device

2) if you have a blackberry, go to this website on the internet browser on your device: www.sprintrelay.com/download/

3) if you have a treo 700wx, there is a way to download the relay application, you should contact the nearest sprint relay person to you

sprint is also selling blackberry 8703e and the treo 700wx with a $29.99 monthly plan. the 8703e costs $99.99 and the treo 700wx (with windows mobile) costs $199.99 after a $100-dollar mail-in rebate.

sprint no longer has a stand-alone application for the sidekick. i don't know if sprint has plans to have an application for the sidekick even though they have a stand-alone application for both the blackberry and windows mobile.

A great many Deaf people still use the TTY for various reasons: unavailability of the VP or the cabling required for it; cost, location, etc.

How does one use a pager to reach a TTY? I have tried to reach a relay operator via my Sidekick and asked them to send a message to a TTY, but it did not work.

Anybody have suggestions that work?
